A List, and Another Interview

My 1986 novel The Shore of Women, soon to be available again in both print-on-demand and electronic editions at E-Reads (check my other books available through E-Reads here), was listed in Damien Broderick and Paul Di Filippo's Science Fiction: The 101 Best Novels 1985-2010. There's also an interview with me up at the Starmetal Oak site, here.
The SFRA Conference

I had a wonderful time at the SFRA conference, learned something from the presentations, and was moved by the presentation of my Pilgrim Award. Marleen Barr presented the award to me via iPhone, since she was unable to be there in person, and her introduction was so witty I worried that I might not be able to top it with my own speech. I also saw some of Detroit, a more beautiful city in many ways than I expected, and went to readings by three writers who were special guests of the conference - Saladin Ahmed, Sarah Zettel, and Minister Faust. Some writers give readings that would work very well as sleep aids, but not these three, who performed their excerpts instead of simply "reading" them and made me want to read more of their work.
Another Appearance

Have returned from Chicago, where I did a Q & A session and signed some books. The Fiction2Film people were great hosts and put on a very well-organized program. I'll be at the 2012 SFRA Conference in Detroit from June 28 to July 1, and am still thrilled that I'm getting the Pilgrim Award.
